Very expected game when 11th ranked Hamburg (4-7) lost at home to fifth ranked Chemnitz (7-4) 79-63 on Saturday. Chemnitz dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Hamburg's 22 and made 20-of-11 free shots (181.8 percent) during the game. American point guard Virgil Matthews (190-83, college: Montana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures.
