Regular Season Round 10: Weser Bsk/BTS - Vechta II 74-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Vechta-2 (2-4) lost to eleventh ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (2-5) in Neustadt 70-74 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for American center Edward Seward (206-78, college: Norfolk St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Point guard Philipp Hellmich (184-89) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Weser Bsk/BTS players scored in double figures. American forward Kazembe Abif (201-92, college: Drexel) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Croatian center Neven Zeravica (205-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Vechta-2. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Weser Bsk/BTS moved-up to ninth place in North. Loser Vechta-2 dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Weser Bsk/BTS will face higher ranked Hannover Korb. (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
