Very important is a road loss of third ranked Treuchtlingen (6-2) against eighth ranked Zwickau (4-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Treuchtlingen was defeated by Zwickau in Zwickau 99-87. Guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Russian swingman Kemal Velishaev (203-93) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals. Zwickau's coach Stephan Wolf allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Tim Eisenberger (197-91) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Stefan Schmoll (196-89) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zwickau maintains eighth position in South-East with 4-5 record. Treuchtlingen at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Zwickau's next round opponent will be higher ranked Schwabing (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Treuchtlingen will play against the league's second-placed TSV Troester having rather not much hope for a victory.
