Regular Season Round 6: HAI - Blyskavky 49-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Blyskavky's (3-4) road victory over 7th ranked HAI (2-6) 72-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Blyskavky. HAI was better in third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HAI to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Blyskavky forced 30 HAI turnovers. The best player for the winners was international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds. Power forward Cynthia Omoboogunje (185-94) chipped in 16 points. Four Blyskavky players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Alina Lakh (164-98) who recorded 19 points and 8 steals and point guard Nataliya Pokrovenko (170-93) added 7 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. HAI's coach Eleonora Chek gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Blyskavky maintains sixth position with 3-4 record. HAI lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Blyskavky will face league's second-placed Interkhim in Odessa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. HAI will play on the road against Tavriyska Zivka (#9) in Kherson and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
