Regular Season Round 9: TuSLi Berlin - Osnabruck SC 46-53

Very expected game when 10th ranked TuSLi Berlin (1-7) lost to fourth ranked Osnabruck SC (6-1) in Lichterfelde 46-53 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 13-9. But TuSLi Berlin won second period 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck SC held TuSLi Berlin to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded TuSLi Berlin 51-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American guard N'Dea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Ramona Tews (172-92) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Jenny Menz (184-91, college: UTSA) answered with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Annalena Blume (180-96) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for TuSLi Berlin. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osnabruck SC maintains fourth place in North with 6-1 record. Loser TuSLi Berlin keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Osnabruck SC will face B.Loewen (#5) at home in the next round. TuSLi Berlin will play against Braunschweig (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
