There was no surprise in Izmir where 9th ranked Urla BLD (5-5) was defeated by third ranked Edremit (8-2) 60-46 on Sunday. Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-93, college: UCLA) fired 32 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international Saynur Tozlu (189-86) chipped in 3 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Helin Boybeyi (-95) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and American center Megan Kritscher (195-89, college: Sacramento St.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Edremit maintains third position with 8-2 record behind leader Bornova. Loser Urla BLD keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Edremit will face 55 Genclik (#19) in Samsun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Urla BLD will play on the road against Ferko Ilgaz (#10) in Kastamonu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
