Regular Season Round 9: Gruenberg - Osnabruecker TB 66-61

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Baskets Grunberg (4-5) beat 9th ranked Osnabruecker (3-7) in Gruenberg 66-61 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a good game for American swingman Sarah Olson (173-93, college: Monmouth) who led her team to a victory with 28 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Amencie Mercier (170-91, college: Northeastern) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Osnabruecker. Osnabruecker's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Baskets Grunberg maintains seventh place in North with 4-5 record. Osnabruecker lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Baskets Grunberg will face SG BBZ Opladen (#8) in Leverkusen in the next round. Osnabruecker will play on the road against the league's second-placed Goettingen where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
