Regular Season Round 8: Politekhn.Lvov - BC-93 RSzVSM 99-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Politekhn.Lvov's (2-3) home victory over 5th ranked BC-93 Pulsar (3-3) in Lviv 99-64. The game was mostly controlled by Politekhn.Lvov. BC-93 Pulsar was better in second period 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhn.Lvov dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to BC-93 Pulsar's 34 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Politekhn.Lvov forced 24 BC-93 Pulsar turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 22 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by BC-93 Pulsar's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Roman Novikov (204-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and center Sergiy Kuzmenko (205-95) who added 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Point guard Taras Shaniuk (179-92) responded with 10 points and 4 assists and point guard Mikhailo Stonozhenko (180-96) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Politekhn.Lvov went down to fifth position due to points difference. Newly promoted BC-93 Pulsar dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Politekhn.Lvov will play against Ch.Mavpy 2 (#7) in Cherkasy in the next round. BC-93 Pulsar will have a break next round.
