Stade (4-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Aschersleben (3-1) 81-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Stade. Aschersleben made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Slovenian-Serbian power forward Ljubisa Markovic (212-91) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and American Sharif Hudson (188-92, college: Ark.-Monticello) supported him with 15 points. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by Spanish power forward Oscar Andres (200-87) did not help to save the game for Stade. American guard Mason Biddle (185-93, college: Western St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aschersleben have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in North. Stade at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with RW Cuxhaven. Aschersleben will meet at home ALBA Berlin II (#5) in the next round. Stade will play against the league's leader Sixers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
