Regular Season Round 12: Lietuvos rytas - Vytautas 77-53
Date: November 20, 2016
The game with biggest result difference took place in Vilnius. Local Lietuvos rytas (9-3) outscored 6th ranked Vytautas (5-7) 77-53. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos rytas. Vytautas was better in fourth quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vytautas to just 7 points in third quarter. The winners were led by the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds and American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) supported him with 10 points and 5 assists. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Saulius Kulvietis (206-91) did not help to save the game for Vytautas. Center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietuvos rytas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lietkabelis. Vytautas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Lietuvos rytas' next round opponent will be league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vytautas will play at home against Siauliai (#10) and hope to win that game.
