Regular Season Round 7: H-Sirenos - Fortuna 64-60

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Fortuna (5-3) against fourth ranked Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (4-4) on Friday night. Visiting Fortuna was defeated by Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas in a tough game in Kaunas 60-64. Fortuna was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was an exceptional evening for Belarusian point guard Volha Ziuzkova (172-83) who led the winners and scored 28 points. American forward Tori Jarosz (190-92, college: Marist, agency: Gamble Sports Management) accounted for 7 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side. Jarosz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Andra Andra Gabalyte (179-80, college: Liberty) came up with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lina Mikeleviciene (182-87) added 17 points respectively for Fortuna in the defeat. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 4-4 record. Fortuna at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fortuna will play at home against the league's leader Suduva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
