Regular Season Round 7: Stevnsgade - Amager 71-67

The game between third ranked Amager (2-3) and fifth ranked Stevnsgade (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Amager was defeated by Stevnsgade in a tough game in Stevnsgade 67-71. Amager was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Stevnsgade forced 19 Amager turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Alberte Dokkedal (180-91) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Catharina Jensen (182-89) answered with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Filipino-American forward Kelly Hardeman (183-94, college: Azusa Pacific) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Amager. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Amager's coach Sam Tamargo tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stevnsgade moved-up to third place. Amager at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Lemvig. Stevnsgade are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Aabyhoj (#7) on the road in the next round. Amager will play against the league's leader Virum and is hoping to win this game.
