Regular Season Round 11: Goettingen - Giessen 46ers 74-84

Date: November 25, 2016
Rather expected game when 9th ranked BG Goettingen (5-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Giessen 46ers (6-6) 84-74. The game was mostly controlled by Giessen 46ers. BG Goettingen was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Joshiko Saibou (188-90, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. American power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for BG Goettingen in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Giessen 46ers went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Ludwigsburg and EWE Baskets. BG Goettingen at the other side dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Giessen 46ers will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BG Goettingen will play against SC Rasta Vechta and hopes to get back on the winning track.
