Regular Season Round 8: Metalac - Smederevo 79-78

A very interesting game took place in Valjevo. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 13th ranked Smederevo (1-7) to tenth ranked Metalac (4-4) 79-78 on Saturday evening. Smederevo was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 21-19 charge of Metalac, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Smederevo turnovers. Strangely Smederevo outrebounded Metalac 44-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Aleksandar Vasic (185-87) who scored 18 points and 8 assists. Center Milos Jankovic (206-94, agency: AproK Sports Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Slobodan Bozovic (207-79) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Stefan Kenic (200-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Metalac and four Smederevo players scored in double figures. Metalac moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Beovuk 72. Smederevo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Metalac's next round opponent will be Beovuk 72 (#7) in Beograd. Smederevo will play at home against Vrsac (#4) and hope to win that game.
