The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Galatasaray (4-1) in Istanbul on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Yakin Dogu BGD (4-1) 72-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Galatasaray. Yakin Dogu BGD dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 20 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard Isil Alben (170-86, agency: 1x1 Sports) responded with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Moriah Jefferson (170-94, college: Connecticut) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yakin Dogu BGD have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. and Galatasaray. Yakin Dogu BGD is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Girne Univ. (#14) in Lefkosa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Galatasaray will play at home against Istanbul Uni (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
