No shocking result in a game when third ranked Nafta-Uni. (12-4) beat on the road 11th ranked Mazeikiai (5-11) 86-79 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-15. But Mazeikiai won second period 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by point guard Benas Bagdonavicius (198-99) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) supported him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) did not help to save the game for Mazeikiai. Forward Arunas Mikalauskas (199-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mazeikiai's coach Aloyzas Rudys rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nafta-Uni. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Rasai. Loser Mazeikiai keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Delikatesas. Nafta-Uni. will meet at home Zalgiris II (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mazeikiai will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
