Regular Season Round 6: Ilirija - Celje 94-74

2SKL top team - Ilirija (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Celje (3-3) in Ljubljana 94-74. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Ilirija made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international forward Goran Jagodnik (202-74, agency: BeoBasket) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Anze Germ (-93) chipped in 29 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Samo Udrih (194-79) with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Tadej Kostomaj (187-87) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ilirija have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Ilirija maintains first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Sezana. Celje at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Pingvini. Ilirija is looking forward to face Grosuplje (#7) in Grosuplje in the next round where they are favorite. Celje will play at home against Parklji and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
