Regular Season Round 7: Horsholm - Aabyhoj 60-56
Date: November 26, 2016
Bottom-ranked Aabyhoj is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Horsholm (6-1) 60-56 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-7. But Aabyhoj won second period 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm dominated on the defensive end, holding Aabyhoj to just 7 points in first quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Line Piechnik (171-90) accounted for 9 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used entire bench in such tough game. American Mariyah Henley came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Camilla Andersen (166-92) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Aabyhoj in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Horsholm. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader Virum. Aabyhoj lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Horsholm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aabyhoj will play against Stevnsgade (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
