Seventh ranked Baskets Grunberg (5-5) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked SG BBZ Opladen (3-7) 66-65 in the game for the seventh place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But SG BBZ Opladen won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Baskets Grunberg forced 22 SG BBZ Opladen turnovers. American swingman Sarah Olson (173-93, college: Monmouth) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) supported her with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Nicola Happel (164-92) did not help to save the game for SG BBZ Opladen. Forward Leonie Prudent (181-89) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Baskets Grunberg maintains seventh position in North with 5-5 record. Baskets Grunberg will play against Barmer TV (#12) in Wuppertal in the next round where they are favorite.
