Regular Season Round 11: Giessen 46ers - ALBA 69-80

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Giessen 46ers (6-6) were defeated at home by eighth ranked ALBA Berlin (6-5) 80-69. They made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. ALBA Berlin players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 26 points. Serbian swingman Dragan Milosavljevic (198-89) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) added 7 points and 6 assists respectively for Giessen 46ers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ALBA Berlin moved-up to sixth place. Giessen 46ers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg and EWE Baskets. ALBA Berlin will play against s Oliver Baskets (#13) in Wuerzburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen 46ers will play on the road against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
