An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 3rd ranked Lombos Quinta in a game in Carcavelos versus Boa Viagem (#6) 76-68. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Lombos Quinta was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Lombos Quinta outrebounded Boa Viagem 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American center Daina Grazulis (190, college: Davenport) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import swingman Alexis Govan (178-93, college: W.Kentucky) accounted for 16 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Boa Viagem players scored in double figures. International power forward Carolina Escorcio (178-90) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Aleighsa Welch (183, college: S.Carolina) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lombos Quinta in the defeat. Lombos Quinta's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boa Viagem have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Lombos Quinta at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Boa Viagem will meet CAB Madeira (#5) in the next round. Lombos Quinta will play against Uniao Sportiva and hope to secure a win.
