Regular Season Round 11: Jena - Wuerzburg 84-75

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Science City Jena (4-6) beat at home 12th ranked s Oliver Baskets (4-7) 84-75. Science City Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. s Oliver Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) accounted for 25 points for the winning side. Center Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Jake Odum (193-91, college: Indiana St.) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for s Oliver Baskets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Science City Jena moved-up to eleventh place. s Oliver Baskets at the other side keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Walter Tigers and Bremerhaven. Science City Jena will play against league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. s Oliver Baskets will play at home against ALBA Berlin (#6) and hope to get back on the winning track.
