Rather expected game in Adana where bottom-ranked Girne Univ. (0-5) was defeated by tenth ranked Botas (2-3) 74-61 on Sunday. Botas forced 23 Girne Univ. turnovers. American guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners and her fellow American import point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) chipped in 12 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Botas players scored in double figures. Serbian-Hungarian forward Tijana Krivacevic (196-90) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Marica Gajic (187-95) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Botas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Osmaniye and Mersin MBK. Girne Univ. at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Botas will face higher ranked Mersin BSB (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Girne Univ. will play against the league's second-placed Yakin Dogu BGD (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
