Regular Season Round 10: Goettingen - Osnabruecker TB 65-41

Date: November 27, 2016
Very predictable result when third ranked Goettingen (8-1) smashed at home 9th ranked Osnabruecker (3-8) 65-41 on Sunday. The game without a history. Goettingen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Osnabruecker to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Goettingen held Osnabruecker to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Michelle Mueller (186-92) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Goettingen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Neuss. Osnabruecker lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Goettingen will face league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osnabruecker will play against SG BBZ Opladen (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
