Regular Season Round 7: SISU - Virum 59-79

Dameligaen top team - Virum (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked SISU (2-5) in Copenhagen 79-59. The game was mostly controlled by Virum. SISU was better in fourth quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to SISU's 20. They outrebounded SISU 42-23 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds. Forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Virum players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Ciara Andrews (175-94, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sille Balling (170-98) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Virum have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. SISU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Virum will play against Amager (#4) in Kastrup in the next round. SISU will play on the road against Lemvig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
