Regular Season Round 13: Juventus - Nevezis 81-72

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Juventus (6-7) beat 8th ranked Nevezis (4-9) in Utena 81-72 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nevezis won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Juventus made 7 blocks. Center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists. American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Five Juventus and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Juventus. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vytautas. Nevezis lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Dzukija. Juventus will meet at home higher ranked Neptunas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#7) in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
