There was no surprise in Ankara where 13th ranked Mamak DSI (4-8) was defeated by tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (6-6) 87-75 on Wednesday. Bandirma Kir. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak DSI's 40 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Bandirma Kir. forced 22 Mamak DSI turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Ridvan Oncel (190-97) who scored 26 points and 4 assists. Guard Eray Akyuz (187-0) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St.) added 20 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mamak DSI's coach Haydar Kemal Ates rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Acibadem. Loser Mamak DSI keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Bandirma Kir. will face higher ranked Socar Petkim (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mamak DSI will play against Afyon Bld (#4) in Afyonkarahisar and hope to win that game.
