Regular Season Round 12: Bremerhaven - Giessen 46ers 70-93
Date: December 2, 2016
Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Giessen 46ers (7-6) outscored on the road 12th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (4-8) 93-70. Giessen 46ers shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) who scored that evening 19 points and 5 assists and point guard Joshiko Saibou (188-90, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 15 points and 5 assists by American point guard Jordan Hulls (180-90, college: Indiana) did not help to save the game for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. His fellow American import forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Giessen 46ers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with EWE Baskets. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Giessen 46ers' next round opponent will be EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10) at home. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against ALBA Berlin and hope to win that game.
