Very important is a road loss of second ranked Nafta-Uni. (12-5) against ninth ranked Zalgiris II (9-10) on Friday night. Visiting Nafta-Uni. was defeated by Zalgiris II in a tough game in Kaunas 72-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But Nafta-Uni. won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris II made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Gytis Masiulis (206-98) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) accounted for 14 points and 12 rebounds. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-86) added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for Nafta-Uni. in the defeat. Five Zalgiris II and four Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Nafta-Uni. at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Zalgiris II will play against higher ranked Vytis (#7) in Sakiai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nafta-Uni. will play at home against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
