Regular Season Round 12: Wusterhausen - Westerstede 55-62

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Wusterhausen (2-5) lost to eleventh ranked Westerstede (2-4) in Wildau 55-62 on Saturday. It was a good game for point guard Haris Hujic (193-97) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Lucien Schmikale (194-97) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Nico Draegert (208-90) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized French Souleymane Diallo (194-88) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Wusterhausen. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Westerstede moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with Hannover Korb. Wusterhausen lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Westerstede will face higher ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (#7) in Neustadt in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wusterhausen will play on the road against the league's second-placed Stade where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
