Regular Season Round 7: Blyskavky - Interkhim 65-57

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Interkhim (8-2) against sixth ranked Blyskavky (4-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Interkhim was defeated by Blyskavky in a tough game in Vinnytsia 57-65. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Interkhim won second period 11-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Interkhim outrebounded Blyskavky 45-27 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Tetyana Lysenko (180-93) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Blyskavky players scored in double figures. Swingman Svitlana Kolibabchuk (189-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and center Kristina Karp (196-98) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Interkhim in the defeat. Blyskavky maintains sixth place with 4-5 record. Defending champion Interkhim dropped to the second position with two games lost. Blyskavky will meet bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zivka (#9) in the next round. Interkhim will have a break next round.
