Regular Season Round 12: Salzkotten - Frintrop 110-86

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Frintrop (4-8) was outleveled on the road by seventh ranked Salzkotten (7-5) 110-86 on Saturday. Salzkotten dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Frintrop's 38. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Salzkotten looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Bryce Leavitt (193-94, college: Seattle Pacific) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Matthias Finke (190-87) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. Coach Stefan Schettke's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Carsten Bartels (198-89) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) added 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Frintrop. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Salzkotten moved-up to sixth place in West, which they share with Duesseldorf. Newly promoted Frintrop keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Salzkotten will face higher ranked Hagen BG (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Frintrop will play against Bielefeld (#14) and hope to win that game.
