Very expected game when 12th ranked Akhisar Bld (5-8) lost on the road to third ranked Istanbulspor (10-3) 80-73. American players dominated the game. Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Walter Lemon Jr. (190-92, college: Bradley) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Leemire Goldwire (184-85, college: Charlotte, agency: HMS) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Istanbulspor maintains third place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Sakarya BSB. Akhisar Bld at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Istanbulspor's next round opponent will be Mamak DSI (#13) in Ankara and are hoping to win another game. Akhisar Bld will play at home against Final Genclik and hope to win that game.
