Regular Season Round 12: Cuxhaven - Hannover Korb. 98-77

Regionalliga top team - RW Cuxhaven (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Hannover Korb. (2-4) 98-77. RW Cuxhaven made 28-of-30 free shots (93.3 percent) during the game, while Hannover Korb. only scored twelve points from the stripe. RW Cuxhaven forced 22 Hannover Korb. turnovers. The winners were led by Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Serbian-Croatian Sinisa Cvetanovic (205-94) supported him with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Four RW Cuxhaven players scored in double figures. RW Cuxhaven's coach Moris Hadzija felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by Nigerian-British center Glen Izevbigie (208-85, college: Savannah St.) did not help to save the game for Hannover Korb.. Lithuanian guard Zygimantas Simonis (192-95) added 16 points and 8 rebounds. RW Cuxhaven have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 6-1 record, which they share with Stade. Loser Hannover Korb. dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Westerstede. RW Cuxhaven will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hannover Korb. will play against ALBA Berlin II (#5) and hope to secure a win.
