Leader Bornova delivered the eleventh victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 16th ranked Edirne (4-9) 99-45. Bornova dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Edirne's 22 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Bornova forced 27 Edirne turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Edirne's players. The former international guard Esra Sencebe (173-81) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Nihal Gungor (-90) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Banu Toker (-82, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 4 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bornova maintains first place with 11-2 record, which they share with Edremit. Edirne lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Istanbulgucu. Bornova will meet Yalova Vip (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Edirne will play against Anadolu Univ. and hope to secure a win.
