The game in Pleven was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Balkan (3-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Spartak Pleven (3-4). Spartak Pleven managed to secure a 5-point victory 88-83 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Balkan. Spartak Pleven made 26-of-27 free shots (96.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Montenegrin-Serbian center Milovan Savic (205-87) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and the former international guard Aleksandar Gruev (187-83) supported him with 16 points and 8 assists. Five Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 5 rebounds by the former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Balkan. Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) added 19 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Spartak Pleven moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yambol and Balkan. Spartak Pleven will meet Cherno More (#8) in the next round. Balkan will play against the league's second-placed Beroe and hope to secure a win.
