Regular Season Round 8: Amager - Virum 59-49

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Virum (7-1) in Kastrup on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Amager (3-3) 59-49. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Virum. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 59-49. Amager forced 21 Virum turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Filipino-American forward Kelly Hardeman (183-94, college: Azusa Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) who added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Amager's coach Sam Tamargo used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) scored 9 points and 18 rebounds. Amager moved-up to third place, which they share with Lemvig. Defending champion Virum still keeps top position with one game lost. Amager is looking forward to face SISU (#6) in Copenhagen in the next round. Virum will have a break next round.
