Very important is a road loss of third ranked TG Neuss (8-2) against eleventh ranked TuSLi Berlin (2-8) on Saturday night. Visiting TG Neuss were defeated by TuSLi Berlin in a tough game in Lichterfelde 73-78. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 12-10. But TG Neuss won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TuSLi Berlin forced 21 TG Neuss turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TuSLi Berlin made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for center Nyara Sabally (185-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Swingman Jenny Menz (184-91, college: UTSA) helped adding 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TuSLi Berlin moved-up to tenth place in North. Loser TG Neuss dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Goettingen. TuSLi Berlin will meet at home league's second-placed Goettingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TG Neuss will play against B.Loewen and hope to secure a win.
