Regular Season Round 9: Tofas - Fenerbahce 81-72

The game between second ranked Fenerbahce (7-2) and thirteenth ranked Tofas (3-6) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Fenerbahce was defeated by Tofas in a tough game in Bursa 72-81. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. Tofas made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 15 points and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Tony Crocker (200-87, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 17 points. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Greek guard Konstantinos Sloukas (197-90) with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Tofas moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Fenerbahce dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Galatasaray and Besiktas. Tofas is looking forward to face higher ranked Besiktas (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fenerbahce will play at home against the league's leader Banvit where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
