Regular Season Round 11: B.Loewen - Braunschweig 64-57

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Braunschweig (1-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked B.Loewen (7-5) 64-57. B.Loewen held Braunschweig to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. B.Loewen forced 19 Braunschweig turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for Ja'Nee Morton (175) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Center Catrina Green (188-92, college: Gardner-Webb) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. B.Loewen's coach Svanhildur Gilles allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Alayshia Hunter (185-93, college: La-Monroe) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Felicia Barron (170-90, college: Quinnipiac) added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. B.Loewen maintains sixth place in North with 7-5 record. Braunschweig at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. B.Loewen's next round opponent will be higher ranked TG Neuss (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against Krofdorf/Gleib. (#5) in Giessen and hope to win that game.
