Regular Season Round 11: Pitesti - Targu Mures 84-71

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Targu Mures (4-6) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Pitesti (6-4) 84-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Pitesti. Targu Mures managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pitesti looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian Pavel Marinov (199-88, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Vincent Hunter (209-84, college: Arkansas) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Pitesti players scored in double figures. American guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Latvian forward Ernests Kalve (200-87, agency: HMS) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Pitesti moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oradea. Loser Targu Mures keep the seventh position with six games lost. Pitesti will meet Phoenix Galati (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Targu Mures will have a break next round.
