Regular Season Round 6: Botas - Mersin BSB 68-57

There was a minor upset in Adana where higher ranked Mersin BSB (3-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Botas (3-3) 68-57. It was a great shooting night for Botas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. American guard Odyssey Sims (175-92, college: Baylor) notched 22 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Natasha Lacy (178-85, college: UTEP) supported her with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds by Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) did not help to save the game for Mersin BSB. The former international center Kristen Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mersin BSB players scored in double figures. Botas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Mersin BSB. Botas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Yakin Dogu BGD (#5) in Istanbul and it may be quite challenging game.
