Regular Season Round 12: Svendborg - Bakken 41-75

An interesting game for Bakken (9-1) which played road game in Svendborg against 3rd ranked Svendborg (6-6). Second ranked Bakken had an easy win 75-41. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Svendborg was better in second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Svendborg to just 6 points in first quarter. Bakken held Svendborg to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Svendborg 54-33 including a 42-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Trinidad and Tobago guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose CC) who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Bakken players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Cameron Jones (193-93, college: Radford) with 17 points and Argentinian-Italian point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bakken have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record behind leader Horsens IC. Svendborg at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Randers. Bakken will play against Horsholm (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Svendborg will play against Stevnsgade and hopes to get back on the winning track.
