Regular Season Round 17: VolinBasket - Dnipro 71-69

The game between third ranked Dnipro (11-5) and ninth ranked VolinBasket (3-11) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Dnipro was edged by VolinBasket in a tough game in Lutsk 69-71. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. VolinBasket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Oleg Rudakov (190-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 24 points and 5 steals. The former international forward Viktor Gerasymchuk (200-81) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. International forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Pavel Revzin (194-83) added 14 points, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. VolinBasket maintains ninth place with 3-11 record. Dnipro at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. VolinBasket are looking forward to face higher ranked Zaporizhya (#6) in Zaporozhye in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dnipro will have a break next round.
