Regular Season Round 19: Suduva-Mantinga - Perlas-MRU 93-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Suduva-Mantinga as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Suduva-Mantinga smashed 6th ranked Perlas-MRU in Marijampole 93-63. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva-Mantinga. Perlas-MRU was better in second period 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Perlas-MRU to just 6 points in third quarter. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Perlas-MRU's 22. Suduva-Mantinga forced 21 Perlas-MRU turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a great evening for forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Domantas Vilys (189-0) responded with 13 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (197-93) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Perlas-MRU lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Perlas-MRU will play next round against Ezerunas-Karys trying to get back on the winning streak. Suduva-Mantinga will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Petrochema at Jonava.
