Regular Season Round 19: Ezerunas-Karys - Mazeikiai 75-87

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Mazeikiai (7-13) beat bottom-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (3-15) in Moletai 87-75 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Ezerunas-Karys was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Mazeikiai won last quarter 29-18. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Ezerunas-Karys turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a very good performance for point guard Ernestas Bruzas (183-96) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Guard Dovydas Giedraitis (185-0) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Eimantas Narusis (200-86) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ezerunas-Karys. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Mazeikiai moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Ezerunas-Karys stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Mazeikiai will face Palanga (#12) at home in the next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Perlas-MRU in Vilnius and hope to win that game.
