We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed TSV Troester (8-4) lost on the road to fifth ranked Vilsbiburg (8-4) 102-88 on Saturday. Vilsbiburg forced 25 TSV Troester turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Czech point guard John Boyer (185-88, college: Buffalo, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Kendall Timmons (195-90, college: Tulane) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Boyer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Erik Land (205-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Dimitry McDuffie (198-89) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for TSV Troester. Four Vilsbiburg and five TSV Troester players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vilsbiburg. They moved-up to fourth place in South-East, which they share with defeated TSV Troester. Vilsbiburg will face Topstar (#12) in Diedorf in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TSV Troester will play at home against Ansbach (#10) and hope to win that game.
