Regular Season Round 14: Mamak DSI - Istanbulspor 73-75

Thirteenth-ranked Mamak DSI (4-10) gave a tough game to third ranked Istanbulspor (11-3) in Ankara on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Walter Lemon Jr. (190-92, college: Bradley) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St.) produced 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and guard Ihsan Yalcin Azizmahmutogullari (188-82) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Istanbulspor maintains third position with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Sakarya BSB. Mamak DSI lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Pertevniyal and Yalova Bld. Istanbulspor will meet at home Socar Petkim (#5) in the next round. Mamak DSI will play against Final Genclik (#17) in Bursa and hope to secure a win.
