Regular Season Round 13: Ansbach - Zwickau 92-89

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Ansbach (4-8) edged at home 10th ranked Zwickau (4-8) 92-89 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for naturalized Croatian point guard Goran Petrovic (184-77) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Dominic Bassl (190-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Andreas Endig (198-78) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Zwickau. Five Zwickau players scored in double figures. Ansbach moved-up to ninth place in South-East, which they share with Rosenheim and Zwickau. Zwickau lost their third game in a row. Ansbach will face higher ranked TSV Troester (#5) in Breitenguessbach in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
