Regular Season Round 8: Parklji - Grosuplje 78-68

Everything could happen in Bezigrad at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Parklji and 8th ranked Grosuplje had identical 2-5 record. This time Parklji used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Grosuplje 78-68 on Saturday night. Grosuplje was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-12 charge of Parklji, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Grosuplje's 26. Parklji forced 19 Grosuplje turnovers. The winners were led by guard Dejan Mlakar (192-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Nejc Kobal (186-91) supported him with 22 points and 7 assists. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Tomo Cajic (200-85) did not help to save the game for Grosuplje. Forward Matic Sirnik (198-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Parklji (3-5) moved-up to eighth place. Grosuplje lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Crnomelj. Parklji will meet Crnomelj (#10) on the road in the next round. Grosuplje will play against Pingvini and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
